crf.one was born from a simple observation: clinical teams need digital tools that adapt to the way they collect and work with data — not workflows that force them to adapt.
The idea originated from experience in a dermatology department at University Hospital Zurich, where the need for better digital support in clinical documentation became clear.
Dermatology provided a powerful example: capturing images, documenting findings and tracking changes over time requires tools that can adapt to the way clinicians actually work.
Developed by Swiss4ward, a Zurich-based team building clinical data management solutions for healthcare and clinical research, crf.one has grown from this clinical foundation into a flexible platform supporting routine care, registries and clinical studies. It enables teams to capture, manage and analyse structured clinical data — from visual documentation and patient-reported outcomes to longitudinal follow-up and research workflows.
Today, crf.one is used across academic institutions, hospitals, CROs and pharma organisations, supporting a wide range of clinical data needs across Europe and beyond.
